I think this is worth a vote. "The movie 2012 shows the whole world collapsing – many monuments falling and rolling. As a Muslim, would you like to include the destruction of Islamic monuments (e.g. Kaba) in this movie?"
I'll ask Roba or Naseem to ask this [I don't support polling yet]
Emmerich: "Well, I wanted to do that [show the destruction of Kaba], I have to admit," the filmmaker told scifiwire.com. "But my co-writer Harald [Kloser] said, 'I will not have a fatwa on my head because of a movie.' And he was right."
Emmerich went on: "We have to all, in the western world, think about this. You can actually let Christian symbols fall apart, but if you would do this with [an] Arab symbol, you would have … a fatwa, and that sounds a little bit like what the state of this world is. So it's just something which I kind of didn't [think] was [an] important element, anyway, in the film, so I kind of left it out."
Vonage has an "Unlimited World Calling" plan for $24.99 to 60 countries.
The only arab countries on the list: Jordan, Bahrain, & Iraq.
Saudi, Egypt, & UAE are all missing.
interesting – i've never seen Jordan singled out on an american list like this before. maybe because many US troops pass through jordan to iraq? but this doesn't explain Bahrain, or why Qatar is not on the list.
A flock of birds landed on 5 phone lines in front of photographer Paulo Pinto -- forming what looked like notes on the musical staff. Composer Jarbas Agnelli saw the picture and arranged that melody for a small orchestra. Listen to the music and see the photo in this very nice video -- the music composed by birds:
[from wiki]: Currently, the genus Gazella is widely considered to contain about 13 species. Four further species are extinct, the ones I just mentioned. What a coincidence!
To many in the Arab world, Michael Jackson was the first ambassador of American music and pop culture; mainly during 80s before satellite TV becoming mainstream, and before the advent of internet to the region. He will truly be missed, such a legendary musician and performer.. As Jermaine said: May Allah be with you, Michael, always.
Nice video and production.. with a little bit of lip synching! I guess this is a norm that is followed for shows whenever no music band is live on stage but only the singer. Nevertheless it works and merely unnoticeable.
