The pitch is that it's a decision engine versus a typical search engine; so more AI is in the picture. In the demo, they use snapshots from what I guess is Kayak.com, hence it might be that Microsoft is doing what Microsoft does best, partnering with other companies in the Search business. Which is something of a double edge sword.

I looked around for good sites for a while, and couldn't find any, until Geni.com came up.
it's perfect for families because one can create a tree, add pictures, news, etc.
they even have facebook apps to connect facebook contacts with Geni profiles.
